Ileana and Paul got married in Fiji. The following day Ileana swapped her Vera Wang shoes for some thongs and we took a boat to an almost deserted island across from the resort for some cool Dress Trashing.

North Stradbroke Island October 27, 2007

Since shooting Mark & Anna’s wedding there in March, I completely fell in love with North Stradbroke Island. The water is such a beautiful aqua blue, and the beach is so private and doesn’t get much pedestrian traffic. So we boarded the ferry and headed on over yesterday afternoon. After shooting a regular e-session, Courtney then got into the gown. The clouds overhead, whilst providing great shade, didn’t look good. We made a start with some more regular “bridal” type shots to get them in the mood…

Day after session on Dunk Island October 10, 2007

The session was the day after the wedding on Dunk Island,
Far North Queensland. The tourists were understandably gobsmacked as we
went from ankle deep in the ocean, to the pool and finally, fully immersed.

Dress Trashing in Melbourne

Craig writes…

The whole idea of a ‘Trash the Dress’ shoot is to photograph a bride who isn’t precious about dirtying her dress, and is prepared to unleash an uninhibited persona in the not so “standard” poses and locations commonly used on a wedding shoot. On Friday September 14th, we had 6 photographers, 2 videographers, 2 hair stylists, a makeup artist, a willing “bride+groom” and 1 dress to trash. Locations were Collingwood and Port Melbourne. Are there any brides out there prepared to stand in a drain pipe, in the ruins of a parking lot and IN the water at the beach?! Below are only a choice few of the photos I took on the day and as soon as the video is compiled I will post it here. A special thank you to Natalie – our “bride” Daniel – our “groom”, Dani and Renee our hair stylists, Laura our makeup artist and the video guys Cam and Steve. What an awesome day!

What an awesome shoot! Amy was ready for anything – and so was her dress!

Made entirely of silk, this dress won’t be seeing too much more action after this shoot. We started off easy. The first location was a relatively clean field with hay bales. The next location got a little grungier, with a little dirt and a lot of junk. The last location was a little moist…

Katherine and Steve had a beautiful wedding here in Sydney. Even though the ceremony was rained out we still got some killer shots. After all that they were still for some more photos, so after they got back from their honeymoon we organized to get together for a trash the dress session. The dress is amazingly elegant so we picked a contrasting location with an industrial feel to it.
