Carmen and her bridesmaids Kelly, Megan & Beth braved the cool afternoon at Pretty Beach, south of Port Douglas to be my first victims of Trash the Dress. We had fun frolicking in the sea, sand and what was left of the sun for an hour or so and Martine Cotton provided much appreciated assistance. Carmen and girls were willing to try anything and my blankets came in very handy for some shivering ladies!

Annielle & Dylan came to me to do a dress trashing shoot and despite the insanely cold water they were up to it.
The water was so cold it was truly painful, even for me just standing in it ankle deep, I’ve no idea how they managed to wade all the way in and even sit down in that icy water. Took more guts than I have!
It was a great shoot and despite me being pretty exhausted during it due to the flu during it I’m very happy with the results. Annielle & Dylan were great fun and love the photos, we are making a massive 18×14″ album for them for their trash shoot.

Beach Trashing October 9, 2008

We did Nick & Evelyn’s wedding a few weeks ago and now it was time for the Trash the Dress shoot. For this TTD we were going to get the dress a bit wet and dirty, and try to be more creative we could normally be on a wedding day.

It was a gorgeous winters day for the shoot… but there was a cool wind on the beach, so we only got wet towards the end of the shoot. But we got some cool images with the waves crashing into the rocks… beautiful and romantic.

This TTD was held in a secret location with just C and J. The idea is to
trash a wedding dress or just do things that you just wouldn¹t normally do
in a wedding dress. It was an amazing day and even though it was quite cold,
we had the best time running around like crazy in the wind. C and J were up
for anything and enjoyed themselves hugely.

This TTD session was shot in the Lower Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. After several weeks of cancelling due to bad weather, we were finally blessed with a gorgeous autumn day. The water was close to freezing, but Jenna put on a brave face and let me capture some amazing images.

After two hours taking the usual (and some not so usual) bridal photos of Alicia at Blackalls Park, see exhibit A & B – I asked if she was interested in going for a swim at the local heated swimming pool. To my surprise she said yes.

These guys love Mustangs and it was only fitting to grab one for a trash the dress session. Dejana and Robert were really keen on the idea of a TTD session so off we went out to the back farms of Sydney. We had a plot to the story on the day and we went for it. No time limits and no constraints and we didn’t hold back! These guys were brilliant and up for a challenge.

These images were from one of the locations on the day.
